My goal as a dachshund breeder is to produce superior puppies as Family Companions, we have beautiful AKC Dachshund puppies available to place in loving homes, puppies will be sold with limited AKC registration as a family pet, unless prior arrangements have been made for full AKC registration. So you want to buy a Dachshund.As a Dachshund breeder I wanted to tell you a little bit about what I look for when I choose each mate for breeding. The first thing I look for is, I have to like the looks of the Dachshund, this take TOP Priority with me, then the Dachshund should have very good Conformation & Health. The next thing would be there temperament, its very important that the Dachshund has a personality that will fit in to a family with children. Next would be Size, is the Dachshund going to meet the Standards sizes set down by AKC Standard Rules. This is one of the questions I am asked when people are inquiring about the miniatures, will they stay under 11 LBS, this I do not know, with all genetic no one can guarantee this, have you ever seen a family where both parents are tall, and one of there children when full grown is short , this is the same with animals. Color is one of the things I look for when breeding, this is one of the first things people look for when choosing a Dachshund is color, but it really should be the last . Pedigree is important in any breeding program, but you can not go on pedigree alone. Most of the buyer's are looking for Female Dachshunds, for some reason there is a Myth that females make better pets, this is not true, a male Dachshund if neutered make the best Pet in my opinion. Before buying a puppy you need to make sure you are financially able to support a puppy with it continuing needs of Food, worming, shots. The Dachshunds are bred with the idea of breeding Champions, this is the goal of my breeding program, My goal is to give you color with conformation. I do buy some of my male & some females from Champion bloodlines. When you buy a pup from us,Your pup has been trained to use a dogie door, plus trained to use newpaper. We feed IAM's puppy food to all the puppies, we ask you to keep your pup on the best puppy food for 1 year, this will make a big difference on the pup's coat & conformation. The pup has to be 8 weeks of age before I will send them to there new homes. At 8 weeks of age your pup has had its 1 st puppy shots, it will need two more shots every three weeks apart, plus it will be given three wormiers, every 10 days apart. Conformation & temperament are very important, I will not breed any dachshund that does not have the best in both of theses areas. If you want to have a nice pet for the home he needs to be neutered at 4 months of age, females around 4 to 5 months.
